Battle to Bexhill walked in thespring on10/03/2017

Our final day of walking on this trip is a fairly leisurely route following the 1066 Country Walk - Bexhill Link, it's a nice change from navigating footpaths!

We start at Battle Abbey, take a quick look around the shops and then head off west down the trail, a familiar view (even in the grey clouds) as this was one of the first places Tanya and I came together camping.

The route itself winds down through fields and tracks onto Powdermill lane and then down past Peppering Eye farm, Arthur is back in the carrier now after walking from Battle.

We enter the lovely Fore Wood Nature Reserve and decide to have an early lunch, we sit just inside the wood on a log and play hide and seek with Arthur.

Onwards now to Crowhurst where the sounds of children playing at the local school greet us, we spot the remains of the manor house and continue along the trail east out of the village, past the playground (didn't stop this time around)and then due south along the valley towards the new bypass.

Truth be told it didn't look that bad, it's just a bit boring and blocks views which used to be further reaching. After crossing under the bypass we continue through the marsh land up to Little Worsham farm and then around the lane into Bexhill, another unceremonious end to a day of walking as we reach the train station and head back to Eastbourne on the 2 carriage Ashford train.
