Tidebrook to Ticehurst walked in thespring on07/03/2017

After another great fry up and coffee we set out back up Riseden Road to the nearest foot path, today is another day of foot paths that skirt around the south of Bewl water.

We head down the field to the train line and cross carefully, making sure Arthur understands the danger best as we can, the path leads up into Snape wood and then out across the fields with a lovely view of Wadhurst to the north, the church clearly visible.

It's a lovely sunny day again today, the blue sky and white clouds a welcome change from the grey rain clouds.

We stop at the style just on the edge of the wood and give Arthur a snack, we watch some dog walkers pass by and then continue on down a long tree covered path to the road.

Up past the sewage works and then into another field towards the b road leading into Wadhurst, we cross straight over and into more fields continuing east now away from the town.

The path leads around a large field of deer and then into Long wood, we stop in the adjacent field for lunch which today includes half a bottle of red wine, a nice treat in the sun.

We pack up and continue through the light woodland into and up a steep field onto a road, north up the road and then up another very steep field onto the main lane heading into Ticehurst.

We follow this lans for at least a mile or so, winding up and down and occasionally offering a glimpse of Bewl water, we considered taking a detour to see more of the resevoir but the track we had looked at turned out to be private.

Past Ticehurst hospital and then onto the highstreet, we continue for 10 minutes and check in our pub for the evening, The Bell.

Probably the most refined food of the whole trip, The Bell provided excellent room service (useful when everyone is exhausted), the rooms themselves are very swish and interesting and the whole experience was really enjoyable.
